RESUME, AVIS

Au couvent des Petites Sœurs de Marie Madeleine, la jeune religieuse AGNÈS est retrouvée en sang et transportée d'urgence à l'hôpital tandis que la mère supérieure, Mère MIRIAM RUTH, trouve un bébé mort dans une corbeille. Un procès doit avoir lieu à Montréal mais auparavant, la psychiatre MARTHA LIVINGSTON est envoyée au couvent afin d'éclaircir l'affaire et mesurer le degré de responsabilité de la Sœur par rapport au décès du bébé. Elle y rencontre AGNÈS qui ignore tout de la conception des enfants.
