RESUME, AVIS

WARD GUISENBERRY est un jeune apprenti serveur qui travaille pour économiser et se construire une ferme. Il entre aux services de NICK DONATI et de sa copine FLUFF. Cette dernière se montrant très attentionnée à l'égard de WARD, NICK devient fou de jalousie et décide de l'éloigner d'elle en l'embauchant comme boxeur, le jeune homme ayant réussi à terrasser un champion lors d'une dispute. Sur les conseils de FLUFF, WARD s'installe chez la mère de NICK où il s'entiche de MARIE, la fille.
